The Porcine Pardon: Hog Named 6-7 Granted Clemency by Miami-Dade Mayor.

While perhaps not at the equivalent scale as pardoning holiday birds, but the Miami-Dade County mayor had her own Donald Trump moment this week by formally pardoning the life of a pig named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava performed the seasonal stunt at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“The swine has done no wrong. She deserves this act of mercy. Her criminal record is spotless,” Levine Cava said in a speech with inescapable allusions to the vast quantity of pardons issued from the start of the beginning of a second term in office.

“Unless you count eating six or seven apples per day,” she went on. “Let this swine have a prosperous future free from concern.”

The gathering, either celebrating or rejecting the local cultural practice of eating roast pork during the holidays, was created to mirror the annual turkey pardoning at the White House.

The pig, provided by a Coral Gables firefighter, was christened after the modern linguistic fad of young people yelling “six seven” – inspired by a hip-hop line – often for no discernable reason. The craze became so pervasive that a leading lexicon site recently made “six-seven” its annual vocabulary selection.

A Future Secured

This particular pig is now set to enjoy its days at a countryside refuge “far from charcoal and roasting pans”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“The pig pardon has become a cherished method to open the festive period,” said the event host, in a particularly upbeat message.

“It captures the character of Miami: happy, multicultural, and rooted in traditions that foster togetherness. Every time, we are delighted to mark culture and compassion in a way only Miami can.”

Participants enjoyed a plant-based fare of spinach croquetas and strong coffee as they toasted the swine's new lease on life.
