Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, but will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only on the road victory this season came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

However I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
