Outrage as Beloved South African DJ Shot Dead in the City of Johannesburg.
A prominent South African media personality and entertainer has been murdered in the country's largest city Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation struggling with persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was gunned down in the downtown area on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the forty-year-old entertainer was confronted by a trio of assailants, one of whom opened fire on him before running away.
The motive of the incident is unknown and no arrests have taken place, according to authorities.
The Fatal Incident
Police said that Stock was attacked as he was exiting a location near the Carlton Centre.
He had been present for hours at the property supervising the implementation of security systems, which had been illegally inhabited by squatters, it was reported.
"It is alleged the deceased was approached by three unidentified men after parking his vehicle, and they opened fire at him before fleeing the scene on foot," a police statement stated.

The DJ tried to run away after he was shot but fell down a short distance away.
It was further revealed that Stock had an unused firearm and nothing was taken during the assault.
