Mohamed Salah Extends Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the group of players after the fallout from his public comments.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a vital match following making accusations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the team's response was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also implied that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Their results have been impressive in the matches since the situation. Jones believes the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
