Lawmakers Release Newest Set of Epstein Images as Department of Justice Cut-off Date Looms
Oversight Panel
The House Oversight Committee has made public a set of approximately 70 photographs obtained from the property of late adjudicated sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.
This represents the third such disclosure from a tranche of in excess of 95,000 photos the panel has acquired from Epstein's estate. It contains photographs of excerpts from the book Lolita inscribed across a woman's body, and redacted pictures of female foreign passports.
This disclosure comes mere hours before the 19 December cut-off for the Justice Department to make public all documents related to its inquiry into Epstein.
"These latest photographs bring up further inquiries about precisely what the Justice Department has in its custody," said the Democratic lead of the committee, Robert Garcia.
What's in the Photos Released
Several of the photographs published on this week depict Epstein conversing with academic and activist Noam Chomsky inside a private plane; Bill Gates standing next to a individual whose identity is censored; Steve Bannon positioned at a desk opposite Epstein, and former Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.
Oversight Panel
These are the newest wealthy, prominent men to be pictured in Epstein estate images disclosed by the House Oversight Committee - previously published images also depict US President Donald Trump and past president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, former US Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and additional individuals.
Appearing in the photographs is is not considered indication of any illegal activity, and many of the photographed figures have stated they were in no way implicated in Epstein's illegal activity.
In a announcement issued alongside the photo publication, Democratic members on the US House Oversight Committee noted the Epstein estate's representatives did not offer explanatory details or timeframes for the photographs.
"Photos were picked to offer the public with transparency into a illustrative selection of the images obtained from the holdings, and to offer understanding into Epstein's associates and his extremely alarming behavior," the statement states.
Investigative Body
The disclosure also includes a number of photographs of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov book Lolita inscribed in black ink across various areas of a female's body, including her torso, foot, pelvis, and rear. Lolita recounts the account of a adolescent who was groomed by a adult literature professor.
One quote from the novel written across a female's torso says, "Lolita's name: the point of the tongue traveling of three steps down the mouth to tap, at three, on the teeth".
Additionally, there are a collection of photographs of female travel documents and ID papers from states around the world, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.
Investigative Body
A large portion of the information on the IDs, such as names and DOBs, is obscured but the House Oversight Committee indicated in a announcement that the passports belong to "women whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were involved with".
An additional image shows Epstein sitting at a desk closely flanked by three women whose faces have been censored - one has her palm on Epstein's torso under his clothing, and another is leaning to look at a adjacent computer. Epstein can be seen to be helping the final person attach a piece of jewelry.

A further photo released is a screenshot of text messages from an unnamed sender who claims they have been sent "a number of girls" and are demanding "$one thousand dollars per female".
Image Publication Arrives Before DOJ Cut-off
The committee has a vast number of photos in its holdings from the Epstein holdings, which are "at once graphic and mundane," its statement on recently explained.
The Congressional committee first issued a subpoena to the estate of Epstein, who died in a New York jail in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on charges of human trafficking, in August.
The photos and files the Epstein estate gave to the body are distinct from what is largely referred to "the Epstein files". Those are documents in the Department of Justice's control connected to its separate probe into Epstein.
Under the recently passed law, which the President signed into law recently, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to disclose its documents. The extent of what's contained in the DOJ's records is unknown, and it's likely that a significant portion of the content will be heavily censored, akin to House Oversight Committee materials
