Week 10 again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that attracts so many fans into the National Football League

That result could have created opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a remaining games that gives them an advantage over their eight and two competitors

Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen try too much or was it just a bad day for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Bills to answer

The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against Miami but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an surprising outcome - and performance

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third quarter and first points in the fourth - yes Miami had 10 days to prepare but it was still a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa passed for two scores but running back De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two scores

Containing the league's best running game was crucial too, with James Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard season average

Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine-minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins turned into seven points just later

It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to do too much to dig his team out of it - rather than the composed, controlled, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year

The Dolphins have served up a varied performances this year so the jury's out on if this is the start of a trend, but for the Bills they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the top of the American Football Conference East

In Focus - Patriots See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three eight and two squads in the league, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the top team?

You can pick holes in New England, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their total twenty-four wins coming against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Colts defeating the Broncos

Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's win in Tampa to their prime time success in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration

Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Mike Vrabel's first three games, with seven straight wins, similar to Denver, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to get ready was significant

Drake Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves point for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa but persevering to guide his team to success

The defensive unit is solid and first-year rusher Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this year on his first score

While you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to finish with the best record thanks to their schedule - which features just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against the Bills

Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but face the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Colts also face the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two matchups with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There's a long way to travel but the opportunity is available for a shock number one position in the AFC

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Clash

Both squads with solid claims to be better than all of the three 8-2 sides are NFC West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who each put up 40 burgers to reach 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in LA

Both have won four in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a contest

Each could realistically be without a loss as well - particularly the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play blocked and returned by the Eagles for a score

Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're truly among the best sides in the NFL

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far

Top Performer - Taylor
